ESCAPE

In the midst of territories governed by normative standards, an “Escape” takes place: four grotesque figures are revealed that present their universes and possibilities. Territories permeated by ashes, lighters, motherhood, pans, full breasts, and stones. Escape is a cry made through sarcasm, in which the creatures and their looks at the world, enact about the women and all the shapes, and colors that they can be.

CREATIVE PROCESS

The theater play is a result of research during a Bachelor's Degree in Theater at the State University of Rio Grande do Sul. The creative process begins with studying vocality in the actress' work. It starts from the urgency of talking about the feminine and moves toward the creation of grotesque figures. To this end, the actress explores elements, discourses, actions, and materials collected from the encounter with homeless women, as well as from the reinvention of the writings of three authors: Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Angélica Freitas, and Maria Carolina de Jesus. Such materials resulted in an authorial dramaturgy. Along the way, the actress uses the mask as a fundamental element in creating the scene. She explores concepts such as presence, vocal resonators, grotesque, and liminality.
